What is “Drop-Ticket e-app”?

The insurance industry is catching up to the world of on-line submission of applications — Commonly called Drop-Ticket applications. Drop-Ticket e-apps can be submitted in less than 10 minutes and do not require signatures from the applicant. This process greatly reduces your time invested in completing a regular paper app, guarantees that the applications are in good order and has shown to reduce the underwriting cycle time.

No more waiting to make a face to face meeting with a client to complete a paper application. No more mailing an application to the client for them to complete only to have it sit on their desk waiting for them to have the time.

Is Drop-Ticket e-apps right for my clients?

The Drop-Ticket application is not for all of your clients. It works best for more transactional type cases, personal life insurance and clients without major health issues. For more complicated or large cases, clients with health issues or business clients it is best to stick with the traditional paper applications.

How does it work?

1. The agent completes a quick on-line application with just the basic information needed to initiate a phone interview. There are no signatures required and can be completed on a desktop computer or personal device. When submitted, the information is transmitted immediately to the carrier. This process typically takes less than 10 minutes.
2. Your client will be called by a representative from the insurance company to complete a phone interview. During the interview, the representative will complete an application, ask your client about their medical history and schedule an exam. This process typically takes 30 to 40 minutes.
3. Once the Application interview and the exam are completed, the underwriting process is virtually the same as with any paper application process.
4. Forward a copy of the "What Happens Next" brochure to your client so they know what to expect.
